Out on DVD Today.

Babel - 9/10

Best Picture nominee, won the Golden Globe for Best Picture, and the second best film of the year. Intense performances and the year's best direction lead this gripping emotional journey. Yours truly picked up the DVD, and will get the special edition once it gets released after the Oscar's.

The Prestige - 8/10

Great performances, notably from Bale. An interesting story, though severely flawed. The visuals are phenomenal, but the ending is unbelievably pretentious and just revolting really. It's obvious that Nolan felt the need to add a twist because of his "rep". Fuck that. Mitch Beaupre picked it up, that's for sure.
Some other releases that I care about:
For Your Consideration
A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints
**Haven't seen either of them, but want to, the latter mainly. Will probably rent them both soonish.
